Ward Prowse stepped up to take Southampton's free kick as his fine ball was headed in by Adams who got in front of Allison to equalise with ease. Southampton responded almost immediately to equalise three minutes later as Che Adams scored to draw his side level. Firmino got in front of Elyounoussi and glanced his header into the goal after finding Robertson's free kick to make it 1-0. It took the host just 6 minutes to open the scoring. The side is currently placed 19th in the table with 12 points in 15 matches until now. Southampton on the other hand were handed another bitter loss, their third in three consecutive premier league games.
The reds following this fantastic win at home have now made it two wins in two matches and are currently placed 6th in the table with 22 points in 14 games.
